Apple Cup of Women's Rowing On Tap For No. 1 Washington

The Apple Cup of women's rowing is on tap this Saturday, April 29, as Washington heads to the Snake River to face Washington State in the annual dual regatta. Racing begins at 9:00 a.m. PT.
 
The Huskies, who remain at No. 1 in the most recent CRCA/USRowing polls, went two-for-four in races at the 106th annual Cal Dual this past weekend on the Montlake Cut. Washington won the varsity four and the second varsity eight races, but fell to California in the third and first varsity eights.
 
This weekend, the Washington women look to take home their seventh Apple Cup in a row, as they have won the varsity eight race the previous six seasons. Last year Washington won all four races at home.
 
The No. 1 Huskies will race the No. 14 Cougars in the three NCAA events, plus an additional third, fourth, and fifth varsity eight race. Here is a look at Saturday's racing schedule:
 
SATURDAY'S SCHEDULE
9:00 a.m. PT – Women's Fifth Varsity 8+
9:15 a.m. PT – Women's Fourth Varsity 8+/Freshman 8+
9:30 a.m. PT – Women's Third Varsity 8+
9:45 a.m. PT – Women's Varsity 4+
10:00 a.m. PT – Women's Second Varsity 8+
10:15 a.m. PT – Women's Varsity 8+
 
(NOTE: Event order may change pending conditions on race day)
 
There will be no live stats available in real time, however, results will be posted to Twitter (@UW_Rowing) and Facebook following the races.

Up Next
Washington will host the Windermere Cup/Opening Day Regatta on May 6th on the Montlake Cut for their last race before post-season. The UW men and women will be competing against crews from Shanghai, China.
