PRINCETON, N.J. – Washington women's senior rower Danielle Hansen was named National Team Athlete of the Year as part of the USRowing Fan's Choice Awards, announced Tuesday by USRowing. The USRowing Fan's Choice Awards are voted on by members of the rowing community around the country and are given to athletes who exemplify excellence both on and off the water.

Hansen won a silver medal in the United States legs, trunk and arms mixed four with coxswain at the Paralympic Games this past summer in Rio de Janeiro, marking her third year as a National Team member.

A three-year letterwinner at Washington, Hansen rowed in the winning women's third varsity 8+ at the 2016 Pac-12 Championships as well as the second varsity 8+ that won its race at the Husky Open.
