Last year, when the regatta was held for the first time since 2019, Washington won the Laurel Korholz Perpetual Trophy (N8+), while finishing third in the V8+, 2V8+ and 3V8+ events. In 2019, the Huskies won both the Karen Plumleigh Cortney Cup (V4+) and the Carley Copley Cup (3V8+). That year marked the Huskies' first trip to the Crew Classic since 2014.

Following the San Diego Crew Classic, the UW women will have three weeks to prepare for the 2023 UW-Cal Dual, which will also feature the program's Title IX 50th Anniversary Celebration. That regatta will be held April 22, on Montlake Cut.
