Danielle Hansen, who just wrapped up her junior season at the University of Washington this past spring, has earned a spot on the United States Paralympic Rowing Team, which will compete in the 2016 Paralympic Games this September in Rio Di Janeiro.

Hansen, from Patterson, Calif., who won a Pac-12 Championship in the Huskies' third varsity eight boat last May, will be competing in her first Paralympic Games in the Leg, Trunk and Arm Four with Coxswain. She has previously rowed in the mixed (men and women) LTA Four at the World Championships in 2014 and 2015, winning a silver medal in each of those regattas.

Hansen joins 12 Huskies who will compete at the Rio Games: Adrienne Martelli and Megan Kalmoe (U.S. quad sculls); Katelin Snyder and Kerry Simmonds (U.S. eight); Sam Ojserkis, Rob Munn, Sam Dommer and Hans Struzyna (U.S. eight); Rob Gibson (Canada quad sculls); Will Crothers and Conlin McCabe (Canada four); and Patricia Obee (Canada lightweight quad sculls).

The 2016 Paralympic Games begin Sept. 7 in Rio.
