PARIS – it was a successful second day of the 2024 Olympics regatta for UW alumni Sunday, as all three Huskies in action advanced successfully to the next level of competition in their events.
Logan Ullrich and Phoebe Spoors, both of New Zealand, moved through to the A final in the men's and women's fours, respectively. Ullrich's crew won its heat, while Spoors' finished second in its. They will both race for a medal on Thursday.
In the women's pairs, UW alumna Jessica Thoennes and her American crewmate finished third in their heat, earning a spot in an A/B semifinal on Wednesday. A top-three finish in that race will qualify the pair to race for a medal.
Monday morning, nine more UW alumni will make their 2024 Olympics debut in the men's and women's eight heats. Additionally, Teal Cohen and her U.S. women's quad will row in a repechage, hoping to remain in contention for a medal. See below for schedule of races.
