The Washington men’s rowing team won its race in The Temple Challenge Cup on the opening day of the Henley Royal Regatta Tuesday, beating the ’91 A.S.R. Nereus “B” crew, from the Netherlands, in a round-of-32 race.
The Washington rowing program mourns the passing of former UW oarsman Jon Runstad ’64, a two-time IRA champion who went on to become one of the program’s most ardent and loyal supporters. Runstad passed away Tuesday, June 20, after a battle with cancer, his family has shared.
Rowers Jack Walkey and Logan Ullrich, along with coxswain Nick Dunlop, were named to the All-America first team, while Darcy McCluskey, Max Heid and Povilas Juskevicius all earned a spot on the second team.
