The No. 1-ranked Washington men's rowing team heads to Lake Mercer in West Windsor, N.J., for the 116th Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships this Friday through Sunday.
The Huskies, who won the Pac-12 Championship on May 13, will compete in all four heavyweight categories at IRAs, which return to the Mercer Lake site that hosted the 2014, 2015 and 2016 regattas. Washington will race in the first, second and third varsity eights and the varsity four.
"We've talked a lot of maturing this year and this is our final test," UW men's head coach
Michael Callahan said. "We're ready."
Last year at Lake Natoma in Northern California, the Huskies won the second and third varsity eights, as well as the varsity four, but fell agonizingly short in the varsity eight grand final, falling to Yale by 0.069 seconds.
