A total of six former Washington men's and women's rowers saw action this weekend at the World Rowing Cup II event in Poznan, Poland, with five of them earning medals.

Sarah Dougherty '16 made her senior-level debut for the United States. She and her crew earned the silver medal in the women's four, finishing just under three seconds back of Australia in the A final. Dougherty had previously competed at the Under-23 level for USRowing.

American veteran Megan Kalmoe '06, a three-time Olympian (bronze in the quadruple sculls in 2012), also took home a silver medal today in Poland, rowing to a second-place finish in the women's pair, along with boat mate Tracy Eisser.

In the same A final, Kirstyn Goodger '14 made her senior-level debut for New Zealand, where she and partner Jackie Gowler took fifth place.

In the women's eight final, U.S. coxswain Katelin Guregian '09 (formerly Katelin Snyder) and the American boat rowed to a bronze-medal finish in a tight race with gold medalist New Zealand and second-place Great Britain.

Finn Schroeder '16 and his German men's four took third place in the A final, earning a bronze medal. Schroeder's four won gold at the European Championships earlier this year.

Schroeder's UW classmate, Jacob Dawson '16, also won a bronze medal Sunday in Poznan, as he and the Great Britain men's eight finished third in the A final, behind Germany and New Zealand.
