CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Washington men's and women's rowing teams will compete this Sunday at the 58th Head of the Charles Regatta, the premier fall rowing event of the year.

The UW program will also "The Boys In The Boat" pavilion for fans, supporters and alumni, in honor of the forthcoming release of the new MGM film, based on the book by Daniel James Brown about the 1936 Husky crew that won Olympic Gold. The movie, directed by George Clooney, is due to the theaters this Christmas Day.

The BITB Pavilion, which features movie props, a trailer screening room and more about the "BITB" story, will be open to all on Friday and Saturday, and will serve as the UW hospitality tent from noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

See the map at the top-right of this page to locate the pavilion.

The Huskies will have two men's and women's crews in each of the two marquee eights competitions – the Men's and Women's Championship Eights. The UW women will also enter one crew in the Women's Championship Fours.

One of the two UW Men's Championship Eights crews will row in a new "Boys in the Boat" shell, constructed of carbon fiber created to look like the wooden "Husky Clipper" shell in which the '36 crew competed.

Here are the three events in which UW crews will race:

Event #63: Women's Championship Fours (22 entries), Sunday, 10:35 a.m. PT / 1:35 p.m. ET
Event #65: Men's Championship Eights (27 entries), Sunday, 10:57 a.m. PT / 1:57 p.m. ET
Event #68: Women's Championship Eights (34 entries), Sunday, 11:32 a.m. PT / 2:32 p.m. ET

Washington will also be represented by a number of alumni, with an eight in each of the men's and women's alumni/alumnae eights races. Additionally, numerous alumni – many of them current U.S. National Team members – will compete in other race categories.
