The Washington men's rowing team won both of its races Saturday morning at the annual Husky Open, held on Montlake Cut.

The two men's college races in which the UW crews competed were the first two events of a long slate of juniors and masters races.

In the morning's first race, Washington's freshman eight was the winner, crossing the finish line in 5:59.717, a couple of lengths ahead of the UW "B" entry, a crew of mostly freshmen. The University of British Columbia's boat finished in third place.

Washington also had two entries in the collegiate varsity four event, with the Huskies' "A" and "B' crews finishing first and second, respectively, ahead of a crew from Seattle University.

Next Saturday, April 13, the Huskies play host to Oregon State in a dual regatta on Montlake Cut.
