Washington's women's rowing team will send a large group of athletes to the 2017 Head of the American regatta this Saturday at Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif.

The annual event, hosted by the Sacramento State Aquatic Center, features 51 race categories for youth, adults, masters and college crews. Washington will enter boats in the women's collegiate eights, women's collegiate pairs and women's open single sculls.

Here is the schedule for those events this Saturday:

11:23 a.m. PT – Women's Collegiate 2- (UW will have 10 entries)
2:11 p.m. PT – Women's Collegiate 8+ (UW will have three entries)
2:56 p.m. PT – Women's Open 1x (UW will have two entries)

Lake Natoma, in Gold River outside of Sacramento, annually hosts the Pac-12 Conference Championship and is a frequent host of NCAA and IRA championships.

Last week, Washington's women had a great weekend at the Head of the Charles in Boston. Washington's eight was the top collegiate finisher (and third overall, behind two national-team-level crews) in its event. Anna Thornton was fourth in the single sculls and Kenzie Waltar and Katy Gillingham were the top collegiate finisher and sixth overall in the double.

Last year at the Head of the American, Washington had the first-, fourth-, and eighth-place finishers among 26 entries in the collegiate W8+ while UW boats also took second, third, fifth and eighth in the pairs.
