INDIANAPOLIS - Washington women's rowing will compete at the 2017 NCAA Championships May 26-28 in West Windsor, New Jersey, as the NCAA announced the 22-team field for the regatta today.
The Huskies, under first-year head coach
Yasmin Farooq, earned the top seed in each of the three NCAA races. Washington will head to the NCAAs for the 21st time in the 21-year history of the event. The Huskies won the first two NCAA team championships (1997 and 1998), as well as the 2001 title. The Huskies have never finished outside of the top 10 in 20 prior competitions.
The NCAA Championships will be held this season at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, New Jersey.
At NCAAs, each participating team races a first varsity eight, a second varsity eight and a varsity four. Points are assigned for places in each of those three races and the overall points champion wins the NCAA crown. Last year, Washington finished fifth overall.
