Make a Gift to the Annual Drive!

The annual drive encompasses the entirety of Washington Rowing. Each year, we turn to caring people like you to provide support for everything that makes Washington Rowing great. Your gift ensures an amazing intercollegiate rowing experience to more than 120 student-athletes every season, fueling team travel, technological advances, leading-edge boats and equipment, team bonding experience, and so much more. All gifts are tax-deductible and qualify you for Tyee Club annual member benefits! You may donate to the overall Washington Rowing program.

Endowments: The Lasting, Perpetual Gift

Endowments are becoming an increasingly important part of our overall funding. Having the consistency and reliability of these gifts allows our coaches to plan into the future for travel, recruiting and equipment. They are the bedrock of our funding; dependable and consistently growing. If you are considering an endowment gift, please contact Michael Callahan at rowing@uw.edu and let’s start moving it forward. All of our endowment donors are honored with a bronze plaque in the Champions Room at Conibear Shellhouse. If you are considering an endowment gift, please find two options below that support both the overall program and general scholarship funding.

Want to Make a Specific Gift?

Have something in mind that you would like the program to have? Gifts of larger items – like new shells, launches or equipment specific to the complex operations of a rowing team today – are highly valued by the program and staff. Our coaches will work with you on identifying the greatest needs, as well as the many naming opportunities throughout the shellhouse. Estate Gifts and Planning

Your legacy gift to Washington Rowing, no matter the size, can have a significant impact on future generations of Washington rowers and help them become leaders in their careers and communities.

The UW has recently made a strong commitment in this area to provide flexibility and a simpler process for our donors. We also have members of our own Rowing Stewards who can help navigate the process to ensure the future gift is clearly earmarked for the rowing team.

It was Hiram Conibear who first went to the UW alumni and the Seattle community in 1913 to ask for support of his new rowing team at Washington. Not only did the community say yes – but they said it overwhelmingly. Since then – from the 1936 Olympic team’s 48-hour fundraiser for Berlin… to the “on to Henley” campaigns of the mid-century… to the building of the new shellhouse in 2005, your gifts have created countless opportunities for our team, and made our program what it is.

We depend on you – every year – to continue the tradition that is Washington Rowing. For travel, state of the art equipment, athlete support, and shellhouse improvements, every gift made through this website goes directly to the rowing program. And every gift makes a difference.
