The Washington rowing season continues this week with a packed schedule of races Saturday morning on the Montlake Cut. Along the annual Husky Open, the UW women will square off with Washington State in the annual Apple Cup of rowing, while the men face Santa Clara and Gonzaga.
The Huskies open another season of high expectations as the women are coming off a historic sweep and the men are looking to win the title they narrowly missed out on last year.

On Saturday, Feb. 24, members of the 1958 team that defeated the Soviets in Moscow returned to Conibear Shellhouse to dedicate our newest Men’s Pocock 8+ in the Washington fleet: The Swiftsure/Alumnus. On hand were John Bisset (cox); Roger MacDonald (3-seat); Dick Erickson’s (2-seat) wife Irma; and Bob Svendsen (bow), along with extended family and friends.
